I’m one of those people that means it wholeheartedly when they say they will do something. Trouble is, it just takes me forever to get around to doing it! I’ve been getting lots of requests for pictures of the apartment, and now that I’ve been here almost 6 weeks I finally took a bunch. Therefore, this post is not going to be a lot of talk, but you’ll get to see where I’ve been living and how nice it is!
Zac and I always have a lot of pride in our space. Finding the apartment, moving in, and decorating for us are well thought out processes. In other words, I’m quite happy with how the apartment turned out, and can’t wait to finally share it with you!
- The bed in the bedroom! I love our comforter, a mere $30 from Target
- Our apartment has no closets! This is the solution, also a mere $30 from Container Store
- Japanese party lights, from an import store on Irving Street
- His and Hers mags: The Economist for Zac, Marie Claire for me
- Beloved photo of the group of friends known as Le Quad, from our “Passed out in Paso” camping trip
- Animal Menagerie
- Jewelery and keepsakes on the short dresser, including a vintage photo of my grandparents
- Reception here sucks, so we have a landline. Don’t I feel classy using this phone to call home!
- Keepsakes on the tall dresser. Photo my sister took of the Painted Ladies in San Fran and real working oil lamp!
- Couch in the study
- Silent film star posters! Clara Bow and Louise Brooks
- Computer desk
- Photo stickers on the computer: 2NE1, my favorite K-pop band, and Zac and friend Allie from Pika Pika! in Japantown
- Zac’s area: Middle East and World maps
- My area: Sewing machine and inspriration board
- Sewing machine
- Inspiration board with pen and ink and charcoal drawings and magazine pictures
- Currently reading: Cleopatra, A Life, by Stacey Shiffe. Amazing book!
- Music corner of the kitchen with record player and cozy vintage chair of Zac’s grandmother
- Record wall and record player
- Stove and kitchen window with curtains made by moi
- We live here!
- What’s behind the fridge? . . .
- . . . the closest thing we have to a closet, dubbed “The Boot Nook”
- Spices and spice rack (we cook a LOT!)
- The cupboards are too high for me so we found this little stool on Irving Street
- Bathroom
- Bathroom art
- My collection of tiny perfumes
- Sink art (I have a thing for Clara Bow if you couldn’t tell!)
- Sink! The toothbrush cup was a cup of sake our friend Helen brought us from Japan
- Vintage hat rack of my grandfather’s with raincoats along with my photos from Europe and a poster from Israel
- Chinese doormat from Irving Street
There were so many photos, so I uploaded them in a gallery instead of single pictures. Just click on the small images to make them bigger. A bit different from me, but I’ve been trying to take more pictures lately and I guess it paid off. Enjoy!
Good Luck and Happy Travels
